Wage to Live (WTL) is the first and only organization of its kind that educates and organizes consumers to help raise wages and support socially-responsible businesses in New York City's restaurant and service industries.
WTL draws upon the proven ability of consumer to drive change within industries. Adapting the strategy used by "Fair Trade" organizations, WTL was established to promote restaurants that strive to pay their workers a living wage. To do this, WTL certifies restaurants that pay a living wage and institute fair employment practices. In conjunction with its certification efforts, WTL conducts extensive community outreach to highlight the importance of higher wages and build awareness of living wage businesses within communities.
